Landscape design and build, from the first plan to the finished yard

Primavera plans the whole yard first, then our crew builds it. The pool, hardscape, outdoor rooms, planting, and lighting are designed together, so the finished space works as one place to spend time outside.

When design and build makes sense

Design and build fits projects that change most of the yard at once. That might be a new pool with a patio and planting around it, a bare backyard behind a newer home, or an older yard that no longer matches how you live.

If you need one piece of work, like a new patio or a set of front steps, start with hardscape design and installation instead. We can still plan it so it fits a larger project later.

What we plan before anything is built

  • How you use the yard

Where people gather, where kids play, where you want quiet, and how often you host. The layout starts here.

  • Sun, shade, and summer heat

Sacramento summers are long and hot. We look at where afternoon sun lands before placing seating, shade structures, and planting.

  • Grade and drainage

How water moves across the lot decides where patios sit, where walls are needed, and how planting beds are built.

  • Views from the house

You see the yard from the kitchen and living room every day. We plan what those windows look out on.

  • How the parts connect

Paths, steps, and transitions between the house, patio, pool, and lawn decide whether the yard feels like one place.

  • Budget and phasing

We talk about budget at the start so the plan fits what you want to spend. If it makes sense to build in phases, we plan for that too.

How the project comes together

Design and construction under one contract, so nothing gets lost between trades.

  1. Consultation

We walk the property with you, talk through goals and priorities, and discuss budget. The first consultation is complimentary.

  2. Design plan

We prepare a custom landscape design plan that lays out hardscape, structures, water, planting, and lighting together.

  3. Construction

Our crew builds the plan, from grading and concrete to stonework, the pool, planting, and lighting.

  4. Ongoing care

Maintenance packages are available to care for the plants, lawn, and hardscape after the build.

Questions about landscape design and build

Something else on your mind? Call (916) 349-8755.

What does design and build mean?

It means one company designs the project and builds it. Primavera prepares the landscape design plan, then our crew handles construction, so the people who drew the plan are the people who build it.

Do I need a full design for a smaller project?

Not always. Smaller projects like a patio or a set of steps can start with a simpler plan. A full design is most useful when several parts of the yard are changing at once.

Can the yard be built in phases?

Often, yes. If the full plan is more than you want to build at once, we can talk through which parts to build first so later phases fit without tearing out finished work.

Is the consultation free?

Yes. The first consultation is complimentary. Call (916) 349-8755 or send the consultation form to set it up.
